Why here

Two bottles from the Smoothie Shot range

Berentzen has a wide range of liqueurs. In our shots category there are two: the Smoothie Shots Berry Kiss and Fruity Love. The other Berentzen bottles, including Apfelkorn and the fruit and cream liqueurs, are elsewhere in the online shop.

The Smoothie Shots came on the market on 1 March 2024, in three flavours. According to the maker, they are half fruit. The alcohol content is 15 percent and the bottle holds half a litre.

Berry Kiss is made from blueberry, blackcurrant and strawberry. Fruity Love from strawberry, apple and redcurrant. We do not stock the third flavour, Tropical Flirt.

The two bottles we have in stock

Both 50 centilitres and 15 percent. The difference is in the fruit.

What is a Smoothie Shot?

That is the name Berentzen gives this range. It is a fruit liqueur with a thicker consistency than an ordinary liqueur; according to the maker, with a fruit content of 50 percent. The label gives fruit liqueur as the product type, with Germany as the country of origin.

About the brand

A distillery from the Emsland

  • The brand in brief
  • 1758The year the Berentzen grain distillery started.
  • HaselünneThe town in the Emsland where the company is based.
  • 1994The company has been listed on the stock exchange since that year.
  • 2024The year the Smoothie Shots appeared.

Berentzen comes from Haselünne, in the Emsland just across the German border. The company's history goes back to 1758, when councillor Johann Bernhard Tobias Berentzen started a grain distillery there under his own name.

The company is now called Berentzen-Gruppe and, besides spirits, also makes soft drinks and juicing systems for fresh orange juice. In 1994 it became the first German spirits maker to go public. It employs around five hundred people.

Apfelkorn and the Smoothie Shots

The house's best-known bottle is Apfelkorn, a blend of grain spirit and apple juice that came on the market in 1976. The Smoothie Shots are much more recent: they appeared on 1 March 2024, in three flavours at once.

Berry Kiss or Fruity Love?

The only difference is the fruit. Size and strength are the same: 50 centilitres, 15 percent. Berry Kiss is built from blueberry, blackcurrant and strawberry; Fruity Love from strawberry, apple and redcurrant.

We have a limited number of these two in stock. You can see current stock in the online shop; if in doubt, give us a call before you order.

Both are in the shop at Brink 2 in Bathmen. Call 0570 541 278 or email info@bockje.nl.
