From our own land to the bottle
Kalkwijck Distillers calls itself a single estate distillery: the grain that is distilled comes from its own land. The farm goes back to 1803, the distillery was added in 2009.
The Nevski Prospekt is their vodka: grain alcohol and Dutch water, at 42 percent. Besides vodka, the house makes jenever, gin, liqueur and whisky.

The name refers to the Nevski Prospekt, the main street of Saint Petersburg. Rusluie were traders from Vriezenveen who made the long journey to that city in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries to do business there.
Kalkwijck Distillers is located on the Tonnendijk in Vroomshoop and, after two centuries, is still in the hands of the Benus family. Rye and brewing barley, among other crops, are grown on its own land.
Rusluie were traders from Vriezenveen who travelled to Saint Petersburg.
