Corn from Texas, distilled in pot stills
Tito’s comes from Austin, Texas. Bert ‘Tito’ Beveridge received his licences in 1995 and began building on a site southeast of the city. In 1997 the first case went out the door.
The vodka is made from maize and distilled in pot stills. That is a kettle in which distilling is done per batch, a method you encounter more often with whisky and cognac than with vodka.
The distillery is called Mockingbird Distillery and falls under Fifth Generation, Inc. According to the brand it was the first legal, working distillery in Texas.
