A 0.0 from our own municipality
DAVO brews in Deventer. Bathmen falls under the same municipality, so for us this is the closest alcohol-free beer on the shelf. That is not a selling point in itself, but it does make a difference: it is beer from here.
Pitstop 0.0 is DAVO’s alcohol-free beer. According to the label information in our webshop it has 0 percent alcohol. So it really is the category most people mean when they ask for alcohol-free beer.
We have one in stock, in the 33-centilitre bottle. If you would like to know whether more non-alcoholic DAVO is coming, give us a call.

DAVO beers, started in Deventer
- The brewery in brief
- 2012The year DAVO starts in Deventer.
- 2016The brewery’s own premises arrive; before that, it brewed elsewhere.
- 2025The year in which Pitstop 0.0 appears according to its own timeline.
- DeventerBrewery and taproom in the city; also taprooms in Zwolle, Twello and Arnhem.
DAVO was started in Deventer in 2012 by a group of friends who had met in a beer café in the town. Sources differ on the exact number of founders, so we do not state it here. In the early years their beer was brewed elsewhere; since 2016 they have had their own brewery, with a tasting room where you can see the brewing.
The brewery says it follows a rule of thumb it calls the three-pint rule: a beer must still be pleasant to drink after three glasses. Besides Deventer, there are taprooms in Zwolle, Twello and Arnhem.
Pitstop 0.0 appears in the brewery’s own timeline under 2025. The label information in our online shop states 0 percent alcohol, 33 centilitres, country of origin the Netherlands.
Beer from Deventer, on the shelf in Bathmen. The same municipality.
What does 0.0 mean, and where is the limit?
In the Netherlands the Warenwet (Commodities Act) determines what may appear on the label. The designation alcohol-free may be used up to and including 0.1 percent alcohol. Low-alcohol runs from more than 0.1 percent up to and including 1.2 percent. A beer of 0.2 or 0.3 percent therefore belongs in that second group, even if the packaging mainly talks about “non alcoholic”.
The Alcohol Act draws its own line: a drink with more than 0.5 percent alcohol at twenty degrees counts as an alcoholic drink. Those two limits are not in the same place, and that is where much of the confusion comes from.
0.0 is not a legal designation in itself. It is a number that brewers put on the label for beer that contains practically no alcohol. Pitstop does carry it, and the label information in our online shop gives 0 percent. That is therefore a different category from a beer with 0.2 or 0.3 percent on the packaging.
