A shot glass of five centilitres
You pour akvavit small and cold. Five centilitres is the usual measure: enough to taste, not so much that the glass turns lukewarm before you reach the bottom.

Akvavit is a Scandinavian distilled spirit flavoured with herbs. It is poured in small measures and drunk cold, and this five-centilitre glass is made for exactly that.
A shot glass is small on purpose. The contents are gone in one or two sips, so the drink stays at temperature; in a larger glass it warms up in your hand before you have finished it.
