About this bottle
Schott Zwiesel komt uit Zwiesel, een glasstadje in het Beierse Woud. Daar ging in 1872 een glasfabriek van start, die in 1929 in handen kwam van het Jenaer Glaswerk Schott & Gen. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog legde de fabriek zich toe op kristalglas; het bedrijf heet tegenwoordig Zwiesel Kristallglas.

In 2002 ontwikkelde Zwiesel samen met de universiteit van Erlangen-Neurenberg Tritan, een sterk kristalglas waarvan de naam verwijst naar titaanoxide.
A red wine glass has a generous bowl. As a result a lot of wine comes into contact with air and the aroma gets room to develop. The rim curves slightly inward and guides that aroma to the nose, so nothing is lost when tasting.
