You do not drink weizen from a pilsner glass
A wheat beer glass is narrow at the bottom and widens towards the top. It is taller than an ordinary beer glass and usually holds half a litre, with room left above for the head.
That shape is not decoration. Wheat beer foams a lot, especially if you pour quickly; the tall wall catches that thick, airy head without the glass overflowing, and the wide opening lets the aroma out.
We sell these glasses loose, by the piece. If one has broken, or you want to go from four to six: order exactly that number.

Frequently asked questions about the Franziskaner glass
How many centiliters does the Franziskaner weizen glass hold?
Fifty centilitres, in other words half a litre. That is the classic size for German wheat beer.
Why is a weizen glass so tall and so narrow?
Wheat beer foams heavily. The tall shape that widens towards the top catches that thick head without the glass overflowing, and the wide opening releases the aroma.
Can I order a single glass or do I have to buy a set?
A single glass is fine. We sell glassware per piece, so you complete your set with exactly the number you need.
Can the Franziskaner glass go in the dishwasher?
The product page does not state this, and we do not repeat that claim as long as the supplier does not make it.
Where does Franziskaner come from?
From Munich. The brand belongs to Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu, which is now part of AB InBev.
Can I collect the glass in Bathmen?
Yes. You can always order online or collect at Brink 2, or simply drop in during opening hours.
