Why here

A simple white rum

Cortez Blanco is not a bottle you pick up to settle in for an evening. It is a light, simple white rum that does its job in a cocktail: it brings alcohol and a touch of sugar cane character and leaves the rest of the glass in peace.

That is exactly why it is on our shelf. Not every bottle has to be a story; sometimes you just want something to make twenty mojitos with without thinking.

About the origin

What is and is not established

  • The bottle at a glance
  • 40%Alcohol percentage.
  • 70 clVolume.
  • BlancoWhite, uncoloured rum.
  • MixingWhat it is meant for.

The label says Ron de Paramaribo, which refers to Suriname. The product description for this bottle also names Varela Hermanos in Panama as the producer.

The two do not necessarily exclude each other (rum is more often distilled elsewhere than where it is bottled or marketed), but we have not been able to make it add up. That is why we mention both statements and leave it at that. What we do not know, we do not invent.

What is certain: it is a white rum of 40 percent in a 70 cl bottle, and it is meant for mixing.

Light, simple and very well suited to mixing and cocktails.

Practical

What this bottle goes with

Classic white rum cocktails: mojito, daiquiri, cuba libre. Also great if you have to make a larger quantity for a birthday or a party.

If you would like a white rum that also holds up neat, just ask in the shop and we will point you to another bottle.
