Why here

Rum from Panama

Panama has good conditions for rum: there is more than enough sugar cane, and the climate favours ageing. Demon’s Share comes from that tradition.

It is a rum you can drink however you like: neat, on ice or in a cocktail. Ageing in oak refines the flavour and brings out the vanilla and warm spices.

About the name

In the world of aged spirits, people speak of the angel’s share: the part that evaporates from the cask during ageing and so never reaches the bottle. The name Demon’s Share plays on that.

The bottle itself accordingly features a devil figure and a dark look. That is marketing, but it does make it easy to recognise in the cabinet.

Inside is an aged rum from Panama at 40 percent. Vanilla, warm spices and citrus are the notes the brand itself mentions.

The angel’s share is what evaporates. This bottle takes the other side.

Practical

What this bottle goes with

At 40 percent and with an approachable flavour profile, this is a rum that works both neat and on ice, and also does well in a cocktail in which the rum should stay recognisable.
