Why here

Less sweet than the standard

Dutch Head Rum Danny Vera Edition is a blend inspired by the regular Bastard version, which according to the brand is also eight years old.

The difference lies in the style: this version is less sweet, with a lovely finish and just a bit more bite. If you know the standard bottle and found it on the sweet side, you will be better off here.

About the bottle

An edition of its own

  • The bottle at a glance
  • NetherlandsCountry of origin.
  • 8 yearsAge of the blend.
  • Less sweetDifference from the regular bottle.
  • 40%Alcohol percentage.

This version carries the name Danny Vera Edition. What exactly lies behind that naming we leave to the brand; we stick to what is in the bottle.

And that is an eight-year-old blend of 40 percent, which the brand itself says is less sweet than the regular Bastard version and has a slightly spicier character.

Sweetness is a big topic with rum. Many brands add sugar to make a bottle more approachable; anyone not looking for that should pay attention to bottles that are restrained about it.

Less sweet, a lovely finish, slightly spicier.
