The Cuban rum style arose in the nineteenth century, when distillers there switched to column distillation and charcoal filtration. The result was a much lighter rum than the heavy, oily style that had been common before.
That light style is why Cuban rum in particular became the base of classics such as the mojito and the daiquiri: it leaves room for lime, mint and sugar instead of drowning them out.
Mulata Silver Dry fits that tradition. It is a bottle for the cocktail shaker, not for the tasting glass.
