A pickle maker that created a shot
Everyone knows Kesbeke for its gherkins and Amsterdam onions. The Zure Bom Shot is the drinks version of that same idea: the flavour of the best-known pickled product, turned into a liqueur.
The shot was made together with 24 ICE, a Dutch maker of frozen cocktails. Kesbeke released it in 2025, together with a second shot, the Oranje Bom.
The bottle we have is 50 centilitres with 14.9 percent alcohol. That is currently the only Kesbeke we have on the shelf.

C.J.R. Kesbeke Fijne Tafelzuren is an Amsterdam family business. Charles Kesbeke, a baker from Axel in Zeeland, started in 1948 in a cellar on the Waterlooplein pickling gherkins and onions. He sold them from street stalls, in pubs and to fishmongers.
His son Camiel expanded the company. Since 1999 it has been run by Oos Kesbeke, the third generation; the fourth is already involved. The company makes pickles, sauces and spreads, and became known to a wider public through the RTL 4 series De Augurkenkoning.
The Zure Bom Shot is the first drink under this name that is on our shelf. Kesbeke made it together with 24 ICE, Nick van Kampen's company that specialises in frozen cocktails.
Liqueur or likorette?
The difference lies in the alcohol percentage. A liqueur has 15 percent or more, a likorette stays below that; otherwise the same rules apply, including a minimum of 100 grams of sugar per liter. That is why in this corner of the shelf you so often see a percentage just under fifteen.
