What the name means
As We Get It literally means: as we receive it. The cask is emptied and the whisky goes straight into the bottle. No chill filtration, no colouring, and no water to bring down the strength.
That immediately explains why every release is different. Colour, strength and character differ from cask to cask, and a batch only appears if a cask meets the requirements. The distillery remains secret; the label shows at most a region, Highland or Islay.

A family business from Broxburn
- The bottler in brief
- 1933Ian Macleod starts out as a brokerage.
- BroxburnIn West Lothian.
- GlengoyneA distillery of its own, since 2003.
- RosebankReopened, distilling again since July 2023.
Behind the label is Ian Macleod Distillers from Broxburn in West Lothian. The company began in 1933 as a whisky brokerage of Leonard Russell senior and is still in the hands of the same family.
Ian Macleod now also owns distilleries of its own: Glengoyne since 2003, Tamdhu since 2011 and Rosebank since 2017, where distilling resumed in July 2023. Whether casks from those own distilleries will ever appear under this label is not announced.
The code on the label tells more than the brand name. Batch TR23/01 is a Highland single malt of sixty point four percent, bottled on 10 February 2023 and matured in bourbon and sherry casks. Which distillery it comes from is not stated, and we do not guess.
As we receive it: no filtering, no colouring, no water.

Which distillery does this whisky come from?
That is not disclosed. At most a region is on the label. People in the whisky world guess at it; we do not take part in that.
