Why you will find Bernheim here
There is currently one bottle of Bernheim on the shelf. We deliberately keep brands like this. They are the first to disappear from the range at most shops, and that is often where the nicest discoveries are.
Would you like to know whether this bottle suits your taste? Call 0570 541 278 or email info@bockje.nl. You will not get a menu of options, but someone who knows the shelf.

What is written here about Bernheim comes from the label and from our own stock data: country, type, volume and price. What we are not sure about, we do not write down. For small brands and single bottlings, a story that holds up is often hard to find, and an invented year helps no one.
American whiskey is all about corn, rye and barley in varying proportions. Bourbon must be made of at least 51 percent corn and mature in new, charred oak barrels.
In the online shop this whisky is listed under the flavour profile Mild & Smooth. That is our own classification and is meant as a direction, not as a tasting note.
Would you rather stand there with the bottle in your hand? Come by. We do not pour, but we will honestly tell you what we think of it and what it resembles that you may already know.
What makes a bourbon a bourbon?
Bourbon must consist of at least 51 percent corn and mature in new barrels of oak charred on the inside. That new cask gives the sweet note of vanilla, caramel and coconut that you rarely come across so strongly in Scotch whisky, because there a second-hand cask is almost always used.
