’t Bockje is een familiezaak aan de Brink in Bathmen met ruim 3.989 verschillende whisky’s op voorraad. Dat is geen selectie van de bekendste namen, maar het hele veld: van de grote distilleerderijen tot losse vaten, onafhankelijke bottelaars en merken waarvan er maar één of twee flessen rondgaan.
At the moment there is one bottle of Van Langtun on the shelf. We keep brands like these on purpose. At most shops they are the first to disappear from the range, and that is often exactly where the nicest discoveries are.

What is written here about Langtun comes from the label and from our own stock data: country, type, content and price. What we are not sure about, we do not write down. For small brands and independent bottlings, a story that holds up is by no means always available, and an invented year helps no one.
In Switzerland it was only legal to distil whisky from grain from 1999; all Swiss whisky therefore has a young tradition.

A single malt is made from malted barley and comes from one distillery. The word single refers to that one distillery, not to one cask: an ordinary single malt usually contains dozens of casks mixed together. If it says single cask, then the whole bottle really does come from one cask and the run is therefore limited.
