Why it is called single grain
Single grain sounds like less than single malt, but it only means that besides malted barley, other grain is in the mash. Everything still comes from one distillery. In this series it is seven grains mixed together in one bottle and rye in the other.
The distillery is in Roudham in Norfolk, prime arable land, and was set up in 2006 by a farming family that had been there for generations. It was the first registered whisky distillery in England in over a hundred years.

- BrecklandThe aquifer the water comes from.
- 2017The Norfolk series begins.
The water comes from the Breckland aquifer directly beneath the site and has a temperature of around ten degrees all year round. The malt comes largely from the region itself.
The Farmers is the most idiosyncratic of the range: seven different malted grains that go into the mash tun together, matured in ex-bourbon casks. The Parched was named European whisky of the year in 2018 by a well-known whisky guide.
There is also a version with rye in it. Everything comes in half-litre bottles, at forty-five percent, non-chill-filtered and without colouring.
Norfolk is arable country, and that is the starting point here.
