Why you find Willem’s here
’t Bockje is a family business on the Brink in Bathmen with more than 3,986 different whiskies in stock. That is not a selection of the best-known names, but the whole field: from the big distilleries to single casks, independent bottlers and brands of which only one or two bottles are around.
There is currently one bottle of Willem’s on the shelf. We deliberately keep brands like this. In most shops they are the first to disappear from the range, and that is often where the most interesting discoveries are.
Would you like to know whether this bottle suits your taste? Call 0570 541 278 or email info@bockje.nl. You will not get a menu of options, but someone who knows the shelf.

What is written here about Willem’s comes from the label and from our own stock data: country, type, volume and price. What we do not know for certain, we do not write down. For small brands and single bottlings there is often no story to be found that holds up, and an invented year helps nobody.
The Netherlands has had whisky distilleries only for a few decades, and the number is still growing. Barley from local soil is often used.
In the online shop this whisky is listed under the flavour profile Mild & Smooth. That is our own classification and is meant as a direction, not as a tasting note.
Would you rather stand there with the bottle in your hand? Come by. We do not pour, but we will honestly tell you what we think of it and what it resembles that you may already know.
What is a single malt?
A single malt is made from malted barley and comes from one distillery. The word single refers to that one distillery, not to one cask: an ordinary single malt usually contains dozens of casks mixed together. If it says single cask, then the whole bottle really does come from one cask and the run is therefore limited.
