Why here

Wheat from the north, water from the south

Grey Goose comes from two parts of France at once. The soft winter wheat comes from Picardy, the grain region in the north. The water comes from a private spring at Gensac-la-Pallue in the Cognac region, where it rises through limestone.

We have seven in stock: the regular bottle in 70 and 35 centilitres, the Altius, and four fruit bottles: orange, lemon, pear and one from the Essences range. Not sure which one you need? Give us a call. That’s what we’re here for.

The vodka with nothing added

Three bottles, all 40 percent: two sizes of the regular Grey Goose and the Altius.

About the brand

From bread wheat to vodka

  • The brand in four facts
  • PicardySoft winter wheat, of the quality used for bread.
  • Gensac-la-PallueThe estate’s own spring in the Cognac region, used for dilution.
  • 1997The year Grey Goose came onto the market.
  • 2004Since that year, the brand has belonged to Bacardi.

Grey Goose is made from a single raw material: soft winter wheat from Picardy, of the quality that is called blé panifiable supérieur in France, the grade used for bread. That grain is milled, the starch is converted and fermented, and then it goes into the columns.

Distilling takes place in columns of steel and copper. Spring water from the house’s own spring at Gensac-la-Pallue is then added: water that rises from an aquifer beneath the house and passes through limestone on its way. Blending and bottling take place there on site.

The brand was launched in 1997 by the American drinks trader Sidney Frank, with the French cellar master François Thibault as its creator. Grey Goose has been owned by Bacardi since 2004.

One grain, one source, and everything within France.

What is the Altius?

The Altius was added in 2024 and differs from the regular bottle in two ways. It uses spring water from the French Alps instead of water from the Cognac region, and it is filtered at minus 24 degrees. The bottles are filled and numbered by hand. Also 40 percent, just like the regular Grey Goose.

Which bottle

Where do you begin?

The regular 70 centilitre Grey Goose is the bottle the brand is built around: wheat from Picardy, water from the Cognac region, 40 percent. Want to try it at home first without a whole bottle? There is the 35 centilitre.

Looking for one for a cocktail? Then choose by fruit: L’Orange with orange, Le Citron with lemon, La Poire with Anjou pear. At 30 percent, the Essences Strawberry & Lemongrass is the lightest of the seven.

The Altius is the bottle for those who already know the brand and want to find out what that different water and cold filtration do.
