A cocktail you do not have to make
A mojito is one of the most labour-intensive drinks behind the bar. It has to be muddled, squeezed and topped up, and that is why it often disappoints at home. This bottle skips that step: the drink is already mixed and lightly sparkling.
That is the difference from the base bottles on the same shelf. An alcohol-free gin or vermouth is a semi-finished product to which you add tonic or juice yourself. The Zero Mojito is not. One 75 centilitre bottle therefore gives about four glasses straight away.
The supplier names mint and lime as the flavours and describes the drink as light in texture with subtle carbonation. Country of origin is Germany.

The alcohol-free shelf divides into two kinds of bottles, and that difference determines what you bring home.
The one kind is a base bottle. An alcohol-free gin, vermouth or herbal liqueur of 70 or 75 centilitres to which you add tonic, juice or sparkling water yourself. You decide the strength of the glass and the bottle lasts a long time, but you always still need something extra.
The other kind is a finished drink. Everything is in it, including the acidity and the fizz. The Spirit Garden Zero Mojito belongs to this group. That is convenient if you do not want to mix, but you cannot adjust anything either.

Where do we keep it?
In our online shop the Zero Mojito is listed under alcohol-free wine, because, like a sparkling wine, it comes in a 75 centilitre bottle with a crown cap. It is not wine; it is a finished mocktail.
What is an alcohol-free distillate, actually?
Three different things get mixed up on the alcohol-free shelf, and that is the question we get most often at the counter.
Drinks that have never contained alcohol. The flavour comes from herbs, botanicals or fruit processed without alcohol as a carrier: distilling in water, or macerating and extracting and then blending those extracts.
Dealcoholised drinks. The other way round: first a regular alcoholic drink (beer or wine), after which the alcohol is removed again by vacuum distillation, reverse osmosis or a spinning cone.
