With drinksBitterballen with mustard
Ingredients
- 12 bitterballen
- mustard
Method
- Heat the frying oil to 180 °C.
- Fry the bitterballen for 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown and piping hot all the way through.
- Drain on kitchen paper and serve immediately with mustard.
With the mealKale with smoked sausage
Ingredients
- 1 kilo of chopped kale
- 1.5 kilos of floury potatoes
- 2 smoked sausages
- 200 millilitres of warm milk
- 30 grams butter
- 100 grams of bacon cubes
- mustard
Method
- Peel the potatoes, cut them into pieces and cook them with the kale on top in a little salted water for 20 minutes until tender.
- Meanwhile, heat the smoked sausage for 20 minutes in water just below boiling.
- Fry the bacon cubes in a dry pan for 5 minutes until crisp.
- Drain the potatoes and kale and mash them with the warm milk and butter into a smooth stamppot.
- Fold in the bacon and serve with the smoked sausage in slices and mustard.
With the cheeseAged Gouda
Ingredients
- 160 grams aged Gouda
Method
- Take the cheese out of the fridge about an hour before serving; that brings out the flavour best.
- Only cut or break the cheese just before serving.
