Pink bottle, clear gin
Pink 47 is regularly mistaken for a pink gin. It is not: the gin itself is clear, the bottle is pink and shaped like a cut diamond. The 47 in the name is the alcohol percentage.
The recipe contains twelve herbs, including two kinds of angelica, two kinds of coriander, Italian juniper, Spanish citrus, almond and a hint of West African nutmeg.

Pink 47 is a brand that came onto the market in 2007. The distilling is done at G&J Distillers in Warrington, one of the oldest English gin distilleries, which distils for several brands.
That is not unusual in the gin world: a brand devises the recipe and the bottle, and a distillery with experience and capacity makes it. We would rather just say so.
At 47 percent this bottle is above average. In a gin and tonic, more of the botanicals therefore stay standing than with a gin of 37.5 percent.
The 47 is the percentage, the pink is the bottle. The gin itself is clear.
What this gin goes with
A classic London Dry at solid strength is the safest choice for cocktails in which the gin must remain recognisable: Martini, Negroni, gin and tonic with a neutral tonic.
The almond and nutmeg give the whole a light, nutty undertone alongside the juniper.
