The first thing that came out of the still
The label says No. 1, and that is meant literally: this is the first distillate that Vossenberg bottled, in October 2018. For a brand that later releases dozens of bottlings, that is in hindsight the most interesting bottle to have.
We like to stock small Dutch houses like this. They rarely reach a national shelf; with us, they do.

Vossenberg is a small distillery in the north of the Netherlands, where the owner does the distilling himself. Besides gin, the company also makes whisky, in quantities you can count on one hand.
Small batch means here what it says: batches so small that each bottling can be numbered separately. This bottle is the first of that series.
Besides juniper, the recipe includes orange and lemon peel, rose petals, coriander seed, orris root and angelica root, among others. The distillery keeps to itself which other ingredients go in.
No. 1 is not marketing: this really is the house’s first bottling.
What you can expect from a bottle like this
With a first distillate from a small distillery you also buy a piece of that house's history. Such bottles are rarely repeated.
