A Brussels abbey beer in its matching glass
La Cambre bears the name of the abbey Ter Kameren in Brussels. The beer got a new start at Brouwerij Het Anker in Mechelen, and the glass goes with it: a chalice model on a stem.
It is the classic abbey shape. Broad and wide, so the aroma is released immediately, and on a stem so your hand does not warm the beer. We have one model of it, in 33 centilitres, available to order per piece.

Why a footed goblet

- Abbey beerThe beer style this shape belongs to.
- BrusselsThe abbey where the name comes from.
A goblet or chalice has a broad, open surface. This releases the beer’s aromas quickly, which is precisely what you want with an abbey beer in which yeast, malt and spice all play a part. It is the reason that almost all abbey and Trappist beers prescribe this model.
The foot keeps your hand off the bowl. For a beer you drink at leisure, that makes a difference: it warms up less quickly than when you clasp the glass itself.
Material, height and weight are not on the product page and we do not make them up. Call us if you want to know exactly, and we will take one out of the box.
