About this bottle
Viven is a Belgian beer brand from Sijsele, a sub-municipality of Damme near Brugge. Willy De Lobel started it there in 1999, still under the names Chapel of Viven and Monastery of Viven. Because he had no brewery of his own, he looked for a craftsman who could brew his recipe and ended up with Dirk Naudts of De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi.

In 2003 droeg De Lobel het merk over aan Tony Traen. De bieren gingen verder als Viven Blond en Viven Bruin, en rond 2009 en 2010 kwamen daar een ale, een porter en een imperial IPA bij: Vlaams brouwwerk in stijlen buiten de Belgische traditie.
