Why here

A goblet for a strong beer

A goblet is a bowl-shaped glass on a stem. The wide bowl gives the aroma room and the foot keeps your hand from warming the beer. For the heavier Rochefort trappists, that is exactly the idea.

We stock the 25 centilitre goblet. There is one left at the moment; if you would like more, give us a call and we will see what can be ordered in.

The beers themselves come in 33 centilitre bottles, so the glass is smaller than a whole bottle.

About the brand

What the goblet goes with

  • Rochefort at a glance
  • 25 clThe capacity of the goblet.
  • NamurThe Belgian province where the abbey is located.
  • FourRochefort 6, 8, 10 and Triple Extra.
  • 33 clThe bottle size of all four beers.

Trappistes Rochefort comes from the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Saint-Rémy in the province of Namur. The abbey brews four beers: the 6, the 8, the 10 and Triple Extra, all four in 33 centilitre bottles and all four bearing the Authentic Trappist Product label.

The number on the label says something about the strength: the 6 is 7.5 percent, the 8 is 9.2 and the 10 is 11.3. Triple Extra is 8.1 percent.

Strengths like these call for a smaller glass. A 25 centilitre goblet makes you pour slowly and holds the aroma in the bowl.
