Why a tripel goes in a goblet
- The glasses in brief
- 33 clThe size of both goblets.
- Thick stemDistinguishing feature of the Kanunnik glass.
- HopThe motif incorporated into that glass.
- WilderenThe village near Sint-Truiden where the brewery is located.
A goblet is a chalice on a stem: a wide bowl that narrows slightly towards the top. Because of this shape the aroma stays above the beer instead of escaping at once, and because you hold the glass by the stem, your hand does not warm the beer. For a tripel, which has a lot of aroma, this is the usual glass.
According to the product description, the glass of Tripel Kanunnik has a thick stem, hop decorations in the glass and the logo in red and green on the front.
Brouwerij Wilderen is in the village of Wilderen near Sint-Truiden in Belgium. Tripel Kanunnik is a tripel of 8.2 percent, brewed with four grains: barley, wheat, oats and rye.
