Ingredients

  • 1 roll of puff pastry
  • 100 grams of grated aged cheese
  • 1 egg

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and brush it with some of the beaten egg.
  3. Sprinkle the cheese over one half, fold the other half over it and press lightly.
  4. Cut into strips about one centimetre wide and twist each strip a few times around its axis.
  5. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper, brush with the rest of the egg and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
Pizza margheritaTo go with itPizza margherita

Ingredients

  • 4 pizza bases
  • 400 grams of tomato passata
  • 3 balls of mozzarella
  • 1 bunch of basil
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil

Method

  1. Preheat the oven as hot as possible, at least 250 °C, with a baking tray inside.
  2. Season the passata with salt and spread a thin layer on the pizza bases.
  3. Tear the mozzarella into pieces, spread them over the sauce and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Bake the pizzas for 8 to 10 minutes until the crust is brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  5. Top with fresh basil leaves and serve immediately.

Ingredients

  • 160 grams young Gouda

Method

  1. Take the cheese out of the fridge about an hour before serving; that brings out the flavour best.
  2. Only cut or break the cheese just before serving.
