What grappa goes with

Grappa is distilled from the skins and pips that remain after the grapes are pressed. That makes it drier and spicier than a brandy made from the juice itself.

Clear grappa goes into the bottle that way and stays sharp and fresh. Grappa that has lain on wood becomes rounder and gets vanilla, but stays dry.

Grappa from a single grape variety lets you recognise that grape; that is the opposite of the harsh grappa the spirit used to be known for.

How to serve it

A narrow tulip glass.
Temperature
Clear grappa cool, around ten degrees. Cask-aged grappa at room temperature.
