Three brands, one distillery
- Hazelburn in four facts
- 1997the first modern Hazelburn is distilled.
- 3xdistilled, using all three of Springbank’s stills.
- Unpeatedunlike Springbank and Longrow.
- Hazelburna lost distillery from Campbeltown.
Springbank in Campbeltown makes three different whiskies. Springbank itself goes through the stills two and a half times and is lightly peated. Longrow goes twice and is heavily peated. Hazelburn goes three times and is completely unpeated.
That triple distillation is unusual in Scotland and gives a lighter, softer spirit. The first modern Hazelburn was distilled in 1997.
The name comes from one of the many distilleries Campbeltown once had and that have since disappeared. Springbank kept the name alive for this style.
Three times through the still and no peat: that is Hazelburn.
