A series, not a distillery
Whisky of Voodoo is one of the ranges from Brave New Spirits, an independent bottler and blender from Glasgow. It has no distillery of its own; the company buys casks, selects from them and bottles them itself.
Twice a year a handful of bottlings is released. They go into the bottle at cask strength, without chill filtration and without added colour, often from casks other bottlers are slow to take on: amarone, bordeaux, imperial stout, fortified wine.

Why the distillery is sometimes not on the label
- The bottler in brief
- GlasgowWhere the company is based, with a warehouse in Campbeltown.
- 2020–2021Founded; the first bottlings follow shortly after.
- 2 timesThis is how many times a year the series is released.
- CampbeltownWhere a distillery of its own is being developed.
Some labels simply show the distillery: Dailuaine, Blair Athol, Tormore, Caol Ila. Others show a name you will not find on any map. There is a reason for that. When a distillery sells casks to third parties, a minute amount of malt from another distillery is sometimes added. Legally it is then no longer a single malt but a blended malt, and the distillery name may not be used.
Such a bottle then carries an invented name. In the trade, such a name is almost always linked to one particular distillery, but there is no official confirmation: the owners say nothing about it. We therefore stick to what is on the label and add that the link is generally assumed, not that it is established.
Brave New Spirits is now building its own distillery on a former air base near Campbeltown. Until it is running, the company remains what it is: a selector of other people's casks.
Each bottle is a single cask, and when it is gone, it is gone.
What these bottles go with
Cask strength means you can decide for yourself how much water to add. Start neat, then add it drop by drop.
Because they are individual casks, the same bottle does not come back. When it is gone, it is gone.

Frequently asked questions about Whisky of Voodoo
How much Whisky of Voodoo does ’t Bockje have in stock?
Five bottles.
Is Whisky of Voodoo a distillery?
No. It is a series from Brave New Spirits, an independent bottler and blender from Glasgow.
How are these bottles bottled?
At cask strength, without chill filtration and without added colour. Every bottle comes from a single cask.
Why is there sometimes no distillery name on it?
Because when casks are sold to third parties, a small amount of malt from another distillery is sometimes added. It is then legally a blended malt and the distillery name may not be used.
Can I then find out which distillery it is?
In the trade, such a cover name is almost always linked to one distillery, but that has never been confirmed. We therefore present it as an assumption, not as a fact.
Can I collect these bottles in Bathmen?
Yes. You can always order online or collect at Brink 2, or simply walk in.
