Twelve Belvedere side by side on the shelf
Most shops have the pure Belvedere and maybe one flavour. We have twelve: the pure bottle in four sizes, three bottles from the rye line, three with fruit and two editions.
That rye line is where it gets interesting. Belvedere 10 comes from a single harvest of a single field, Smogory Forest from rye from one region in western Poland, and Heritage 176 is officially not even allowed to call itself vodka. If you would like to know which of those three suits you, just give us a call. That is what we are here for.

Rye vodka from Żyrardów, close to Warsaw
- The brand in four moments
- 1910Dawid and Mejer Pines open the distillery in Żyrardów.
- the ninetiesThe first bottles of Belvedere leave that distillery.
- 2005LVMH takes full control of the brand.
- 2023Belvedere 10 is released: one harvest from one field.
Belvedere is distilled in Żyrardów, a town about forty-five kilometres west of Warsaw. The distillery there dates back to 1910 and was long called Polmos Żyrardów. Since April 2005 the brand has been entirely owned by LVMH.
The grain is rye. For the regular bottle Dankowskie Gold is used, for the core bottles the Dankowskie Diamond variety. The distillate goes through column stills (the pure Belvedere four times) and is then filtered over charcoal.
The name refers to the Belweder Palace in Warsaw. Belweder means roughly beautiful to see.
Vodka sold in Poland may contain no additives. Rye, water and nothing else.
Why does Heritage 176 not say ‘vodka’?
Because it contains something that, according to those rules, is not allowed in it. Heritage 176 consists for ninety-eight percent of regular Belvedere from the column still, topped up with two percent distillate of malted rye dried over an open fire, an eighteenth-century Polish malting technique. Because of that two percent, the bottle may formally not call itself vodka and the label says spirit drink.

Frequently asked questions about Belvedere
How many Belvedere does ’t Bockje have in stock?
Twelve bottles, all immediately available: the pure Belvedere in four sizes, Belvedere 10, Smogory Forest, Heritage 176, two infusions, the Pink Grapefruit and two editions.
Where is Belvedere made?
In Żyrardów, about forty-five kilometres west of Warsaw. The distillery there dates back to 1910 and was long known as Polmos Żyrardów.
Which grain is Belvedere made from?
From rye. For the regular bottle that is Dankowskie Gold, for the core bottles the Dankowskie Diamond variant. The pure Belvedere goes through the column still four times and is then filtered over charcoal.
What is the difference between Smogory Forest and the regular Belvedere?
Smogory Forest comes from Dankowskie Diamond rye from a single estate in the forests of western Poland, whereas the regular bottle brings together rye from several fields. Belvedere itself describes Smogory Forest as full and savoury.
Why does it not say vodka on Heritage 176?
Because two percent distillate of malted rye dried over fire goes into it. Additions are not allowed in vodka, so the bottle is sold as a spirit drink.
What is Belvedere 10?
A vodka from a single harvest of organic Dankowskie Diamond rye from a single field on the estate by Lake Bartężek in northern Poland. The bottle appeared in 2023 and is bottled at 40%.
Does ’t Bockje also ship Belvedere abroad?
