Grappa is een Italiaanse brandewijn van druivendraf: de schillen, het vruchtvlees, de pitten en de steeltjes die na het maken van wijn overblijven. De naam is in de Europese Unie beschermd en mag alleen voor grappa uit Italië worden gebruikt.

Het glas heeft een ronde kelk die in het midden smaller wordt en aan de rand weer uitloopt. Die vernauwing leidt de geur naar de neus. De lange steel voorkomt dat de hand de drank opwarmt.
