Why here

Why you will find grain jenevers here

We keep one of the widest drinks ranges in the Netherlands, in a family business on the Brink in Bathmen. For grain jenevers, that means not three or four choices but 7.

Grain jenever is a quiet favourite: less well known than young or old, but with more flavour than many people expect. We stock a number of them because they are good both for drinking and for mixing.

Not sure which one you need? Call 0570 541 278 or email info@bockje.nl. Tell us what you normally drink, and we will work it out together.

The designation says something about the raw material: all the alcohol in the bottle has been distilled from grains. Ordinary jenever may also use neutral alcohol from another source.

You can taste that difference. Grain jenever is softer and fuller, with a lightly sweet, bready note from the grain itself.

The designation is separate from young and old, which refer to the proportion of malt wine. You will therefore come across grain jenever in both the young and the aged style.
