Why you will find young jenevers here
We keep one of the widest drinks ranges in the Netherlands, in a family business on the Brink in Bathmen. For young jenevers, that means not three or four choices but 13.
Young jenever is the dram most people know and the basis of the kopstoot. We stock several because there is more difference between the brands than you might think.

The young style emerged in the last century, when column distillation made it possible to produce lighter, more neutral alcohol. Young therefore refers to the recipe and the era in which it emerged, not to ageing.
The proportion of malt wine is low, making the jenever light and smooth with a delicate juniper note. Ice-cold from the freezer is the classic way to serve it.
At the bar, young jenever is the regular partner of a glass of beer: the kopstoot. In cocktails it sometimes replaces vodka or gin, with just a little more grain character.
