Ledaig 10 Years Old Peated alongside Partagás Lusitanias
The peated Tobermory bottling next to a Cuban double corona. A long cigar for a bottle that does not fade quickly.

From the shelf
The bottle
Ledaig is the peated bottling of the Tobermory distillery, on the island of Mull. This whisky is ten years old, matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 46 percent ABV. The distillery bottles it unfiltered and without colouring.
The combination
Why this works together
A double corona of 194 mm is the longest common size and takes more than an hour to smoke. At that length the smoke shifts as you go: the start is calm, the last third clearly heavier. A peated malt of 46% ABV can follow that build, because the peat still offers a counterweight at the end. With a lighter bottle, the last part would overpower the whisky.
Beside the glass
The cigar
We do not sell cigars; we supply the whisky. These cigars go well alongside this bottle.

- Partagás Lusitanias Cuban double corona of 194 mm, earthy and heavy towards the end, alongside a peated whisky that can handle that.
- Hoyo de Monterrey Double Coronas Same size of 194 mm, milder in house style and sweeter in the wood.
- Ramón Allones Gigantes Double corona of 194 mm with more body in the first half.
- Montecristo Double Edmundo Shorter, 155 mm, for those who want to keep the sitting within the hour.
In the glass
Serving
Neat in a tulip-shaped glass. At 46 percent by volume water is not needed; with a long cigar a few drops do help keep the whisky fresh across the whole sitting. Drink each time after the smoke has left the mouth.
