Springbank 10 Years Old alongside Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill
A Campbeltown malt next to a short, thick Cuban. Two players with body, without either one taking over.

From the shelf
The bottle
Springbank is in Campbeltown, on the west coast of Scotland. This single malt is ten years old and is bottled at 46 percent abv. It is distilled two and a half times and matures in sixty percent bourbon casks and forty percent sherry casks.
The combination
Why this works together
The Wide Churchill is 130 mm long and strikingly broad. That proportion gives a full smoke in a short time, without turning sharp. Romeo y Julieta is floral and woody by nature, not earthy. Next to a Campbeltown malt at 46 percent ABV, that brings the wood from the cask forward instead of drowning it out.
Beside the glass
The cigar
We do not sell cigars; we supply the whisky. These cigars go well alongside this bottle.

- Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill Cuban size of 130 mm, short and wide, floral and woody alongside a malt with body.
- Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 Robusto of 127 mm, earthy and slightly heavier in tone.
- Vegas Robaina Famosos Robusto of 124 mm with more earth, for those who want to bring the cigar to the fore.
- Oliva Serie V Double Robusto Nicaraguan robusto with pepper instead of flowers, a clearly different direction.
In the glass
Serving
Neat in a tulip-shaped glass. At 46 percent ABV a few drops of water bring out the malt sweetness. Drink in the pauses between the puffs.
