What goes with vieux
Vieux is Dutch brandy made from grain, with flavourings that bring it close to cognac. It does not come from grapes and is therefore not called cognac.
Vieux got its place when cognac became hard to get after the war. Since then it has become a drink of its own, with a fixed place with the coffee.
It is softer and sweeter than grape brandy, and therefore more approachable for those who normally find spirits too sharp.
