Whisky · Scotland · 50%
Why this works together
Chosen by type (whisky). Whisky goes with dishes that have their own character, with an aged cheese and, after the meal, with something with chocolate, caramel or nuts.

For 4 people
With the mealBarbecued spare ribs
Ingredients
- 2 kilos spare ribs
- 6 tablespoons barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 2 cloves garlic
- 4 corn cobs
Method
- Preheat the oven to 150 °C.
- Rub the spare ribs with the paprika, salt and pepper, wrap them in aluminium foil and cook them in the oven for 2 to 2.5 hours.
- Mix the barbecue sauce with the honey and the crushed garlic.
- Boil the corn cobs for 10 minutes in salted water.
- Grill the spare ribs and the corn for 10 minutes on the hot barbecue, brushing the ribs regularly with the sauce until they shine.

A cigar with Claxton's Exploration Series - Tormore 2008 12Y
We have paired this cigar with Highland Park 12 Years Old, another whisky from Scotland.

Cohiba Siglo IV
Cuban corona gorda of 143 mm, woody and grassy, which leaves room for the whisky at 40 per cent ABV.
Why this works together
A corona gorda of 143 mm is longer than a robusto and narrower than a pyramid: the smoke stays even and does not become heavier towards the end. Cohiba is grassy and woody rather than earthy. With a malt at 40 per cent ABV, that is the safest side: an earthy or peppery cigar would push the whisky into the background.
Also good with this whisky
- Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 1Corona gorda of 143 mm, milder and sweeter in the wood.
- Davidoff Winston Churchill The Late Hour RobustoRobusto of 127 mm, shorter and firmer, for those who want the smoke to be more present.
- Vegas Robaina FamososRobusto of 124 mm with more earth, if the bottle may stand alongside a heavier cigar.
We do not sell cigars; we supply the whisky.
