Why this works together

Chosen by type (whisky) and name (peat or smoke). A smoky whisky calls for dishes with a pronounced character of their own: smoked fish, something from the grill or a robust blue cheese.

After the meal

A cigar with The Epicurean Peated Edition

Een rokerige whisky, zo zegt de naam. Deze sigaar hebben wij uitgewerkt naast Caol Ila Islay Single Malt 12 Years Old, ook een rokerige whisky.

Cigars
Our choice

Ramón Allones Specially Selected

Full-bodied Cuban robusto with earth and dark fruit; holds its own against peat.

Why this works together

Peat smoke and tobacco smoke add up, so this only works if the cigar itself has weight. The Specially Selected does: it is full, earthy and spicy and will not be overpowered. The sweet malt and toffee in the whisky absorb the dryness of the tobacco, where a bone-dry whisky would make the whole thing harsh.

Also good with this whisky

We do not sell cigars; we supply the whisky.
