Why here

Four official bottles and eight casks

Longmorn is mostly blended away. What comes out as single malt is limited: the Distillers Choice and three bottles with an age statement. We have all four, plus eight casks from bottlers.

Among them are an Adelphi from 1992 and a twenty-five-year-old Old Particular at just over sixty percent. If you don't know which one to choose, give us a call. That is what we are here for.

About the distillery

The blenders’ favourite

  • Longmorn in four facts
  • 1893John Duff founds the distillery; in December 1894 the first spirit runs.
  • 1920Masataka Taketsuru does an internship here and takes the shape of the stills back to Japan.
  • 2001the distillery joins Chivas Brothers, part of Pernod Ricard.
  • 2024an eighteen- and a twenty-two-year-old are added.

Longmorn lies near Elgin in Speyside and was founded in 1893 by John Duff, who had previously set up Glenlossie. The first spirit ran in December 1894. Since 2001 the distillery has belonged to Chivas Brothers, part of Pernod Ricard.

Among blenders, Longmorn has a reputation few can match: sweet, deep and fruity, exactly the kind of malt that gives a blend body. You will find it in Chivas Regal, among others. As a result, little is left to bottle as a single malt, and most single bottles come from independent bottlers.

A detail that touches Japanese whisky history: Masataka Taketsuru, the later founder of Nikka, did an internship here in 1920. He took the shape of the stills back to Japan. In 2024 the house released two new aged bottles under its own name.

The malt that blenders want, and which is therefore rarely available on its own.
