Why here

Four levels of the same house

Ventisquero runs from a small bottle at 2.49 to the VerTice at almost thirty-three euros. In between lie Clásico, Reserva and Grey, which makes the house suitable for discovering, step by step, what a price class does.

The small bottles are also handy if you just want a single glass, for instance with lunch. Not sure which one you need? Give us a call. That is what we are here for.

The core range

Clásico: four wines for 7.50

Briefly explained

Why the valley is on the label

  • The ranges on this page
  • ClásicoThe entry point: fruity and ready to drink straight away.
  • ReservaMore concentration, often from the Maipo Valley.
  • GreyFrom selected plots, including cool Casablanca.
  • VerTiceThe house's top wine.

Chile is a narrow country between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes, which means the climate varies strongly over a short distance. Close to the coast, as in the Casablanca Valley, the sea breeze cools the vineyards; fresh white wines with plenty of acidity grow there. Inland, in the Maipo Valley, it is warmer and you get fuller red wines.

That is why the valley on Chilean wine often features more prominently on the label than the vintage. If you are looking for a fresh sauvignon blanc, Casablanca is the signal; if you want a sturdy cabernet, Maipo is the pointer.

With Chilean wine, the valley says more about the style than the price.

Frequently asked questions about Ventisquero

How much Ventisquero does ’t Bockje have in stock?

Fourteen wines, from a small bottle at 2.49 up to the VerTice.

What is the difference between Clásico, Reserva, Grey and VerTice?

Clásico is the entry point: fruity and ready to drink. Reserva has more concentration. Grey comes from selected plots. VerTice is the house's top wine.

Why is the valley on the label?

Because the climate in Chile differs strongly over short distances. Casablanca lies close to the ocean and is cool, which gives fresh white wines; Maipo is warmer and yields fuller red wines.

Which Ventisquero should you try first?

A Clásico for 7.50 to get to know the style. If you want to taste the difference with a higher level, put a Grey next to it.

Does ’t Bockje also ship these wines abroad?

Yes. We ship to around forty countries. Email info@bockje.nl if you want to know whether your country is included.
