What armagnac goes with
Armagnac comes from Gascony and, unlike cognac, is usually distilled once, in a continuous still. As a result more of the grape stays in the drink.
As a result, Armagnac is fuller and rougher than Cognac, with more dried fruit and more spice. That is not a flaw but the reason people choose it.
Much armagnac is bottled by vintage. That year stands for when the grapes were harvested, not for how long it has been in the bottle; in the bottle it no longer changes.
