Why this works together

Chosen by type (whisky) and name (peat or smoke). A smoky whisky calls for dishes with a pronounced character of their own: smoked fish, something from the grill or a robust blue cheese.

A cigar with Filey Bay Peated Finish Batch #3

A smoky whisky, so the name says. We developed this cigar alongside Ledaig 10 Years Old (Tobermory) Peated, also a smoky whisky.

Our choice

Why this works together

A double corona of 194 mm is the longest common size and takes more than an hour to smoke. At that length the smoke shifts as you go: the start is calm, the last third clearly heavier. A peated malt of 46% ABV can follow that build, because the peat still offers a counterweight at the end. With a lighter bottle, the last part would overpower the whisky.

Also good with this whisky
