Littlemill closed in 1994 and burned down in 2004. What still exists of it is with bottlers. We have two, both from 1988: one of 33 and one of 34 years. Same distillate, one year's difference in wood. And nothing more will be added.
There are also two seventeen-year-old blended malts that differ only in their finish, sherry versus port, and twelve single casks from distilleries ranging from Ben Nevis to Old Pulteney. Not sure which one you need? Give us a call. That is what we are here for.
Six bottles under seventy euros
With a peated Islay malt at forty euros as the cheapest way in.
Hart Brothers Balmenach 9 Years Old Rum Cask

Hart Brothers is a family business from Glasgow that specialises in single casks. The range is unpredictable, as with any bottler: what is there is there, and once a cask is empty it does not come back.
What stands out about the range is its breadth. Bottles at fifty euros sit next to bottles above two thousand, and it includes distilleries you rarely see under their own name: Croftengea, for example, the peated whisky of Loch Lomond, or Braeval and Balmenach, which work almost entirely for blends.
On a bottle that only says ‘Speyside’ or ‘Islay’, the distillery was not allowed to be named. We do not guess at that.
What is Littlemill?
A Lowland distillery that was counted among the oldest in Scotland and was closed in 1994. In 2004 the buildings burned down; nothing is left of them. Everything that still exists comes from casks filled before 1994, and that number falls every year. That is why such bottles are in a separate series at Hart Brothers: the Legends Collection.

Frequently asked questions about Hart Brothers
How many Hart Brothers does ’t Bockje have in stock?
Twenty-three bottlings, all available immediately, from about fifteen different distilleries.
What is Littlemill?
A Lowland distillery that was closed in 1994 and whose buildings burned down in 2004. Everything that still exists comes from casks filled before 1994. We have two, both from vintage 1988.
Why does the bottle sometimes say only Speyside or Islay?
Because the distillery does not allow its name to appear on a bottler's bottle. We do not guess which distillery it is; that comes with this kind of bottle.
Which Hart Brothers should you try first?
The peated Islay malt at forty euros is the cheapest way in. If you want a single cask at cask strength, the eight-year-old Balmenach or the Linkwood is a good step.
What is Croftengea?
The heavily peated whisky from the Loch Lomond distillery. It is released under its own name, like Inchmurrin and Inchmoan from the same house.
Does ’t Bockje also ship Hart Brothers abroad?
Yes. We ship to around forty countries. Email info@bockje.nl if you want to know whether your country is included.
