Why here

Twenty-two casks, all undiluted

Finn Thomson bottles only single casks at full strength, with the cask number on the label. We have twenty-two, from sixteen distilleries, from an eight-year-old Ardnamurchan to a thirty-four-year-old Dufftown.

Twice we have two casks from the same distillery: two Benrinnes from 2011 and 2012, and two Glen Gariochs from 2012. Those are the comparisons enthusiasts come for. If you are not sure which to choose, just give us a call. That is what we are here for.

Speyside

Seven casks from Speyside

With two Benrinnes and two Mannochmores to set side by side.

About the house

A bottler without detours

  • What every bottle has in common
  • Single caskNever blended, always one cask per bottling.
  • Cask strengthUndiluted, here from 49.9 to 59.3 percent.
  • On the labelDistillery, vintage and often the cask number.
  • No additivesNo colouring, no chill filtration.

Finn Thomson is a small Scottish bottler that limits itself to one thing: single casks, bottled undiluted. No fixed ranges with names of their own, no blended batches. Just cask by cask, with the details plainly on the label.

That makes the supply erratic: what is there, is there, and when a cask is finished it does not come back. For us it means the list changes constantly; for the buyer that every bottle is a one-off.

A single cask usually yields two to three hundred bottles. After that, it is over.

What is Pitilie?

A substitute name. Some distilleries do not allow their name on a bottler's bottle, so another name is used. Pitilie is one such name: it refers to the stream that runs past a well-known Highland distillery. We do not guess which one; that is part of this kind of bottle.

Eight casks from the rest of Scotland

From the Highlands to the young Glasgow distillery, with two Glen Gariochs from the same vintage.

Frequently asked questions about Finn Thomson

How many bottles of Finn Thomson does ’t Bockje have in stock?

Twenty-two single casks, all available immediately, from sixteen different distilleries.

Are all bottles cask strength?

Yes. Finn Thomson bottles exclusively undiluted; with us from 49.9 to 59.3 percent. No colouring is added and it is not chill-filtered.

What is Pitilie?

A substitute name for a distillery that does not want its name on a bottler’s bottle. We do not say which distillery is behind it; that can only be guessed at.

Which Finn Thomson should you try first?

One of the Speyside casks at around 115 euro, for example the Benrinnes or the Aultmore. If you want to compare, take the two Benrinnes or the two Glen Gariochs together.

Will these bottles come back when they are sold out?

No. Each cask yields a few hundred bottles, and then it is gone. What is on the shelf stays there only while stocks last.

Does ’t Bockje also ship Finn Thomson abroad?

Yes. We ship to around forty countries. Email info@bockje.nl if you want to know whether your country is included.
