Why here

Cane juice and craftsmanship

Providence combines two things: crystalline sugar cane and the juice of Michel Sajous, and the distillation expertise of Gianni Capovilla. That combination yields a rum you cannot compare with an industrial bottle.

At the heart of the production process is the wish to make a natural, traditional product. No shortcuts, no corrections afterwards.

About the origin

Haiti, small-scale distilled

  • The bottle at a glance
  • HaitiOrigin.
  • Cane juiceThe raw material, from Michel Sajous.
  • 2019The year on the bottle.
  • 52%Alcohol percentage.

Rum from fresh sugarcane juice tastes different from rum made from molasses. Where molasses rum often leans towards caramel and dried fruit, cane juice rum holds on more to the cane itself: grassy, earthy, sometimes olive-like and briny.

Michel Sajous is a well-known name in Haiti among cane juice distillers. Gianni Capovilla built his reputation with eau de vie in Italy. Providence comes out of that collaboration.

This bottle is three years old and bottled at 52 percent. That is young for an aged rum, but with cane juice rum what counts most is what the cane brings.

Natural and traditional products, nothing more.

Practical

What this bottle goes with
