Why here

Grain whisky as a category in its own right

Almost all grain whisky disappears into blends; as a single bottle you rarely come across it. The Haig Club Clubman is one of the few that is deliberately brought to market as a single grain: lighter and sweeter than malt, and pleasant in a cocktail.

The plain Haig Club is temporarily sold out. If you are not sure which one you need, give us a call. That is what we are here for.

About the name

A family that has been distilling for four centuries

  • The name in brief
  • 17th centuryThe Haig family is mentioned as a distiller in Scotland.
  • 19th centuryHaig becomes one of the largest blends in the country.
  • CameronbridgeThe grain distillery with which the family became associated.
  • 2014Haig Club appears as a single grain in a blue bottle.

Haig is one of the oldest names in Scotch whisky. The family is already mentioned as distillers in the seventeenth century and grew into one of the country's great blending houses in the nineteenth century. The name is also linked to the Cameronbridge grain distillery in Fife.

Haig Club is a modern release: a single grain in a square blue bottle, aimed at an audience that mainly drinks whisky mixed. Grain whisky is distilled in column stills rather than in copper pot stills, and is therefore lighter and sweeter than malt.

Grain whisky makes up the largest part of every blend, but is rarely on the shelf as itself.
