About this bottle

Mongozo Coconut is a fruit beer with coconut, brewed on the basis of the buckwheat wheat beer Mongozo Buckwheat White. It has 3.6% ABV and comes in a 33 cl bottle. Thanks to that base, this variant is also gluten-free, and it carries the Fairtrade label. Together with the banana and mango versions, it forms the brand's range of light fruit beers.

Mongozo does not brew itself: the beers are made at Brouwerij Huyghe in Melle. The brand chooses ingredients with the Fairtrade label, such as the rice in the pilsener, and a large part of the range is organic. Grains such as buckwheat and rice play a major role in the recipes, and several beers are certified gluten-free.

Mongozo Coconut is an exotic beer with the fresh taste of coconut. The base of this beer is Mongozo Buckwheat White, to which fresh coconut milk is added. The beer is low in alcohol and, with its fresh taste, goes perfectly with exotic dishes. Mongozo Coconut carries the Fairtrade label.

Ingredients

500 grams of strawberries
250 millilitres of whipping cream
2 tablespoons of icing sugar
4 sprigs of mint

Method

Rinse the strawberries, drain them and remove the hulls.
Halve large strawberries and dust them with half of the icing sugar.
Whip the cream with the rest of the icing sugar to soft peaks.
Divide the strawberries and whipped cream among small bowls and garnish with a sprig of mint.

Ingredients

200 grams fresh ricotta
2 tablespoons honey

Method

Spoon the ricotta into a small bowl.
Pour the honey over just before serving.

StarterGoat's cheese with honey on toast

Ingredients

1 baguette
150 grams soft goat's cheese
2 tablespoons honey
4 sprigs of thyme

Method

Preheat the oven grill.
Slice the baguette and lightly toast the slices on one side.
Top the untoasted side with goat's cheese and sprinkle with thyme leaves.
Place under the grill for 3 to 4 minutes until the cheese is soft and lightly coloured.
Drizzle with honey and serve warm.
