Ingredients

  • 2 kilos spare ribs
  • 6 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 corn cobs

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 150 °C.
  2. Rub the spare ribs with the paprika, salt and pepper, wrap them in aluminium foil and cook them in the oven for 2 to 2.5 hours.
  3. Mix the barbecue sauce with the honey and the crushed garlic.
  4. Boil the corn cobs for 10 minutes in salted water.
  5. Grill the spare ribs and the corn for 10 minutes on the hot barbecue, brushing the ribs regularly with the sauce until they shine.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams of flour
  • 500 millilitres of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 bananas
  • 30 grams butter
  • 4 tablespoons of syrup

Method

  1. Whisk the flour with a pinch of salt, the eggs and gradually the milk into a smooth batter and leave to rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Cut the bananas into thin slices.
  3. Melt a knob of butter in a frying pan and lay slices of banana in it.
  4. Pour a layer of batter over them and cook over a medium-high heat until the top is dry.
  5. Turn the pancake and cook the other side for 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Repeat with the rest and serve with syrup.

Ingredients

  • 160 grams aged Gouda

Method

  1. Take the cheese out of the fridge about an hour before serving; that brings out the flavour best.
  2. Only cut or break the cheese just before serving.

That way the recipient can try three styles of the same brand side by side. The oldest in the box is the XO, which matures twelve to fifteen years on American and French oak.

Patridom is made by Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos. The brand grows its own sugar cane, so that all raw material comes from the Dominican Republic, and lets the rum mature in the tropical climate of the country. The name is a contraction of patrimonio and dominicano: the Dominican heritage.
