What advocaat goes with

Advocaat is an egg liqueur: egg yolk, sugar and brandy, thick enough for a small spoon. A Dutch drink with a fixed place at dessert.

The thick variety is eaten with a small spoon, with whipped cream on top. The thinner, pourable advocaat goes over ice cream or in a glass with whipped cream alongside.

Because it contains egg, an opened bottle belongs in the fridge and keeps for a shorter time than other liqueurs. Check the label for what the maker advises.
